everyone's in the midst of rushing the numerous projects due this week. i know it's been really taxing, hang in there. one week to go and we can all have a nice bbq to celebrate. dun stress out on the final stretch =)

i may not understand, true, but for one thing, i know that we can always take positives out of everything =)

just got back from a movie. the kingdom. good stuff. nearly brought me to tears towards the end T-T hahah. kill those bloody terrorists!

i've been eating and eating and eating of late. without any exercise. i can see my tummy growing bigger and bigger hohooooo. santa claus is cominggggg to towwwwwwwwn

chewy's bdae party at her place yesterday. we were just chilling, watching tv and eating pizza all night long. and her dog berry is berry cute hahah. but scary at times. when they locked him in the room for a while and opened the door, he came out like those bulls in the rodeo ring, jumping around crazily HAHA.

7 a side soccer competition in school today! our team was more or less a makeshift team, anyhow chapalang 9 players from here and there to play. we were in it for the fun anyway hahah. so the team was me, yangxu, syaq, trevor, 4 of trevor's acquaintances, and syaq's horny sikh friend arvin. we were like clowns la. yangxu sit one corner read blaw notes den second half play, arvin talking about geylang prostitutes and the sports club announcer's boobs all morning long HAHAHA. seriously man, he's the first horny sikh i've ever met in my life. but he's a cool cat. we gave it our best shot, and it was pretty good as a matter of fact. first 2 games we went down 1-0 , and 2-1, but i was really impressed with our fighting spirit and harmony. no blaming here and there blah blah. i think if we actually form a serious team with this bunch of chaps we wouldn't be that bad. fun stuff, cept for my sickening hamstring pulling on me again. break my balls only (long since i last used this =D)

just got back from the gym. there was this guy there who was probably on steriods. he sorta did bench presses with an elsina on each side of the bar -.-'

went "window" shopping with my nugget on friday. i finally got my muse t shirt hohohooooo. and she got her ear punch-holed. it was the first time i was seeing the punch-holing process, so it was quite scary for me. i was like gritting my teeth when they put the gun on her ear. i think i more scared den nugget la HAHA. after that her ear went all red, but they put that cooling liquid on the ear to counter the heat. interestingggg. u learn something new everyday =D we like covered the entire stretch of orchard, all the way to ps, looking for nice shirts. the walking was sweatening(new word!) haha. at least i know wad to buy now =) part 2 coming soon, the actual buying ensued.

and for all dba 11 noobs, the class jerseys are with me! please settle the $25 payment with me ASAP, if you have not done so. i'll pass the shirts to u the next time i see u. okie dokie im off to do ECM. later!

woohoo yesterday was a kickass day. after school, which ended at 10am, we went visiting for hari raya!!!! the gang for the day was syaq, malek, zhengjie, minghao, trevor and troy. me, syaq, trevor and minghao wore our baju kurungs to school man! quite cooling also hahah. so the first stop for the day was at maleks'. Ate bee hoon and played ps3 for a while. watched some soccer too. then we went over to Mas' place, where we ate mee soto, watched Hi 5, played with her adorable chubby little sister, and basically chilled for a while. then it was over to my place. we ate kway teow, played cards, slept (applies to syaq only), and made a whole lot of noise (Malek, zhengjie and Troy playing xbox360 in my room). final stop for the day was syaqs' , where we had laksa, mini potong ice cream, watched live the dream, condemned victor tang to hell, and condemned victor tang to hell even more. HAHAH at the end of proceedings, it was already 11 plus so me and zhengjie shared a cab back. what a day. really drains the energy out of you =D

nugget asked me to blog, so here i am blogging now hahaha

hari raya has been a blast so far, lotsa money and good foooooooood. and i like the feeling of eating and drinking in broad daylight again. so liberating HAHA. feel like going "im eating! neh neh neh neh nehhhh =p" but then again, everyone can eat also so i dunno who to direct that to.

school has been rather uninspiring. i know, like tell me what's new right. so sian, and projects coming up real soon. already have 2 on-going. boooooooringgggggg

yesterday, i was at the ritz carlton for the SICCI Annual Dinner cum Youth Enterprise Awards 2007. the food was marvelicious! desserts galoreeeee, and when i was collecting my award on stage and posing for pictures, the metal stand for my plaque fell to the ground. paiseh.com -.-' i'll upload some pics once i get hold of them.

omg the weather today gave me flashbacks of Dubai. One of the hottest days i've ever experienced in Singapore siol. and to make matters worst, we chose to play soccer today at 1pm. heatstroke.com hahaha the things boys do to have fun. yangxu's 1000 goal training has to be extended, coz he scored only 6 today HAHAHA. back to the weather. me and vann were fried to a delicate crisp in the NON-AIRCONDITIONED 74 bus on our way home. felt like a sauna man. i think i should ask leonard to help me complain to SBS again, to change all buses to air-con ones LOL

there was a flying cockroach in our BLAW class today. so gross! zhi hao the exterminator got rid of it with his slipper of doom =D

So after school it was the usual chilling session with gang, and then on to the usual jamming session with the band. and i have to say, today was one of the most awesomest superbest craziestest ultimatest jamming session we ever had! mainly down to the mind-blowingly sweet cover of Muse - Time is Running out (my blog song) we did. The song is great when u listen to the mp3, but even more great when u are actually hearing it live and playing it yourself.

And then we met shyanne and co. at Lido after their movie to have dinner at cuppage. then we walked to balcony to pay a visit to nugget and vanno. spent like 10 bucks on 7 prawn dumplings -.-' the stuff at balcony ain't cheap. the wedges totally sucked balls. big, deflated, hairy balls. and it was home sweet home after all that. what a day. im tired(sounds familiar hahah)

i nearly fell behind the bus stop seat waiting for the bus at thomson, cause i was dozing off. that's how tired im feeling right now. wh......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

i must be crazy. here i am up at 5am to blog! hohoho.... well it was back to school yesterday. business as usual. slack slack and more slack, but hey, who's complaining? went to guild house during the first 2 hour break(there were 2) to play some arcade with kim leng and co. i gave initial d a try, since it was 40 cents cheap. quite fun uh. but i got owned on the first stage. wad to do, i not ah beng wad LOL. as far as teachers are concerned, i found the new bunch pretty cool, cept for the FM lecturer. that old hag really put me to sleep man. and don't even get me started with leonard. he was condemning her the whole time la, from her dressing to her hair hahaha me and syak couldn't stop laughing listening to him. cmi lah

holy month

another post about the holy month of ramadhan. i've been feeling real holy the past few days. maybe coz i've been sitting at home, doing some thinking. something came to me ; is faith really important? Faith is to believe without reason, and can be held in view of two aspects; religion and trust. Lets talk about religion first. In this modern day and age, religious faith holds a paper-thin significance. I mean, just look at muslims in Singapore for example. how often do you see a malay man, or family for that matter, dining in non-halal restaurants? consuming alcohol? and don't you find it alarming that night clubs and pubs are usually infested with malays? Our generation clearly don't give a shit about religious values. i have to confess, i myself have succumbed to the influence of this Generation X a fair amount of times. reflecting on my actions, i start to ponder ; is it worth it? turning my back on the teachings of my faith? sure, i do feel suffocatingly encompassed by the ridiculous number of restrictions it imposes on me, but who am i to question god? a man without faith is a lesser man. i am finally starting to realize this universal truth.

As for the trust aspect, mmhmm. trust is hard to come by nowadays, and i seem to have misplaced my faith with the wrong people. i guess you've gotta earn my trust now huh. cause im no longer in a generous mood =) It is difficult to trust humans, facades are all around us. the world is so fake. but still, there are always people you can trust. just don't get them wrong

and yik shi bought the exact same hoodie that i have. congrats to him! we can gay now! LOL

fasting month

4 days into the fasting month, and i'm feeling great! weight loss guaranteed. Fasting month is also a good opportunity to spend some quality time with my family, to make up for normal days when i come back at 1am and my family have long been sleeping. Also, being a holy month, fasting month allows devils like me to repent for my sins throughout the year, although i seriously doubt 30 days is enough to balance the books in my case =D. Nevertheless, it's still something. at least it puts my conscience at ease HAHA.

Man U beat everton 1-0 yesterday. another week, another scrappy win. it took all 83 minutes for VIDIC(a defender) to score from a corner. ROONEYYYY WE NEED YOU!!!! COME BACKKKKKK. after the game i tuned in to another game, spurs vs arsenal. and all i can say is "whoa". as much as i would like to ridicule the gooners, i'll have to admit they are looking good. hats off to their attacking prowess. the way they work the ball up the pitch is, at times, breathtaking. 3-1? they could have won 6-1 if it weren't for some great goalkeeping and wasted chances. and the last goal by adebayor was like OMFG! just take a look at this

Day 3 schedule : morning, tour of the city. after that, free. we decided to visit one of the mega malls in dubai hahaha

me trying to contact civilization in the morning! but damn it failed. if wanna use internet must pay
now, that's a mouthful for a road name. =D
the dubai creek! dubai is seperated into 2 sections by this creek; the commercial sector and the industrial sector. there's a traditional dubai boat for u
enjoying the hair dryer wind and 50 degrees heat! by the way day 3 was the hottest day in the year! and we were lucky enough to experience it.ignore the hand signal

it's back to the coach for some air con full blastricky will provide information

next we visited a traditional arabic restaurant, enclosed in an old-school arab building. the buildings are made of coral(cuz last time dubai was a fishing HUB yup not only singapore can be HUB u know). see that squarish thing with the sticks on the top? that's a natural air con mechanism! what it does is it allows the hot air from inside the building to rise out, and at the same time the cool air, which is less dense, will be pushed into the building. totally rad!
alastair doesn't like the interior design, judging by the look on his half-facewhere's the fanner and grape feeder? OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!

it was a cold and rainy day today. again. hahah so me and nugget decided to go to city hall to get some donuts from donut factoryyyyy! cause we were like fantasizing over donuts for the past few days and couldn't resist it anymore LOL. never tried the donuts there before, and i heard from friends that the queue is wicked sick. when they told me that they had to queue for hours to get their donuts i would usually ridicule them, but boy, they weren't exaggerating man. the queue was GIGANTONORMOUS!!! it was so long that they had to seperate the queue into 3 parts to prevent obstruction. yes people. THREE parts. the things singaporeans do for sugary round dough. Budding entrepreneurs, i know what you're thinking, but do the sensible thing and conduct some Marketing Research before opening your own donut outlet ok? So we queued for like 1 hour plus before finally getting our angelic donuts. Thank god they tasted good. went to SMU to study accounting after that. and now i'm sulking at homeeeeee.

oooh this day brings back memories! exactly 1 year ago, i created my first proper blog, right after the fireworks display! hahaha i guess time flies when u are wasting ur life slacking. yuppp

so today was a really long and eventful day. had MR paper in the morning, and being the smartass that i am, i decided to wear sports attire (hotto pants HOOOO) to school, since i was gonna play badminton with sabrina immediately after the paper. But my smartass brain failed to process the fact that i was gonna be like a chicken in the north pole on the way to school, cause it was goddamn raining the whole morning!!! Well, u know what they say. u learn things the hard way. nearly froze to death in the bus. the MR paper was another ownage topic, lets not dwell on that anymore hahaha. so after the paper, played badminton with sabrina, then went home to sleep abit before meeting yik shi, trevor, sam, mas and the hoodlums at Marina to watch the fireworks display. yay went out with my homies today! we went to catch disturbia in the afternoon. not bad, i got damn uncomfortable halfway through the movie, not because of the movie, but because my bladder was full. miraculously i managed to hold my bladder till the end of the movie ( 1 hour plus)... guess i got a bladder made of steel LOL. so after the movie we went to kopitiam for lunch, saw an old friend from Saints there. then we headed to esplanade library to study ssm (well, sorta). went for dinner at marina square, followed by a really nice chilling out session at the merlion. man, life feels great without projects hahaha.

oh yes people its finally over!!!! for the moment. but we still gotta enjoy ourselves after a hectic few weeks man! went to town after school with my chicken nugget malissa, shyanne, felicia, vannoooo, trevor, yikshi, syak and self proclaimed god minghao. Some interesting stuff took place.

finally had our ssm presentation today. i think my grp did pretty ok :) right now i gotta finalize the uccd report and get started on RWPS, another ball breaker. why does it feel like my balls are depreciating everyday this term? man.... hahaha on the flipside, went to watch transformers(FINALLY) with vann today! good stuff, but i kinda felt that the show started off with a bang, and got lamer and lamer as the show progressed. the ending was like totally rushed, like no explanation man. me and vann were like "huh" hahah but overall it was good stuff. we're kinda hyped up now about rush hour 3; the trailer was hilarious! woohoo so we had kambing soup with syak after the show, and here i am back home after my ball breaking ride on the bus. people, u gotta find time to enjoy yourselves, even in busy periods like now. its all about time management! lol long day today man. went jamming with acra in the morning at daisy rock, collide is more or less nailed, dancing shoes sounded awesome at parts, trevor and troy just need to practice on their part. so after that i met vannessa and we headed to ECP to train for poly50 LOL. trevor tagged along too. the weather was pretty good, saw alot of dogs along the way hahaha. after our run we rented bikes and cycled to lagoon for dinner. we had a mini feast; fried oyster omelete, fishball soup, gong-gong(some weird snail-like seafood) and satay, which was awesome. then we cycled to the jetty to enjoy the sea breeze. then there was this amazing kid on his kick scooter. he zoomed past us in a flash. i think he was traveling at 100km an hour! hahaha den we cycled back and chilled at the water breaker. bloody cockroach made an appearance again.

i went for DBA's dialogue session today, in place of assistant class chairman syak, who was supposed to go in place of chairman Mas. Always count on the finance minister to get things done. HAHA. anyway, it was a nice experience. They assigned each of us a table, with our names placed on the table(well, Mas' in this case). man, i felt like i was in a UN conference or something LOL. All the big shots were there, like the director and his friend willy wonka. So us delegates, i mean chairmans, talked about concerning issues like subject material, ability to cope with this and that, and the quality of facilities to name a few. My enthusiasm kinda ran out after the first hour, so i was like sleeping in front of the director the second hour. politics. BAH!

today marked the end of the national stadium. but seriously, did they really have to make such a big fuss about it? i mean, yeah , the football games with Malaysia and Australia, good idea, but whats up with the olympic-esque ceremonies, like the carrying of the torch by our "world-class" athletes like REMY ONG (rolling balls on polished lanes in air con. why the hell is bowling a sport anyway?) I think the SSC forgot about the fact that in our illustrious donkey years competing in the olympics, we have won a grand total of 1 medal( silver, mind you), and even that, was during a time when sports was not as prominent as it is today. Although Today newspaper is able to recollect every second of our "heroic triumphs" at the stadium ( i can count them on 1 hand), why is it that they seem to have developed partial amnesia, forgetting about the many many many many many times when Singapore got raped at that very ground? come on, SSC. wake up and smell the roses. In order for sports to excel in Singapore, we need to be nurturing talent at a young and tender age. kids need to kick balls around even before they learn their ABCs. which, in a Singaporean context, is quite impossible. While children in England and Brazil are growing up playing football in the streets, we are having maths, science, english and mother tongue tuition. i think it would be more realistic to extend Goal 2010 a few hundred years or so, maybe when cyborgs hit the fields instead of humans. it takes much more than 3 years to change a lifestyle.

Australia beat Singapore 3-0. A fitting end to the "Field of Dreams", where Dreams are invoked( stimulated by watching our side play soccer), and we can only dream. dream on.

Aw man today was dope! like liquid dope man. me, trevor syak and troy went to Jurong East to swim. my first time there, and it was great! the lazy river, slides, wave pool wrestling.... the only thing missing was hot chicks. dang it. haha but we had a gd time. after swimming we met yik shi and went to SIMPANG BEDOK for dinner. hungry macam hantu sia so we eat like shit la. great feast in the east is wad i like to say. roti john, kebab, briyani, fried rice, chicken wing, fries, murtabak, everything also got sia! sedaaaaap LOL then we went to chill at the cool rocket playground near trevor's place. its like one of those modern playgrounds designed like a treehouse where u have to climb up. damn shiok place to chill... so shiok until we stayed too long sia! the last train was at 11.30, and we were still at the place at 11.25.... my balls prematurely broke when i saw the time. but us being ACRA spartans, we defied time and sprinted from SIMPANG BEDOK to Tanah Merah MRT station!!! wtf man and we were still like super full la with our heavy luggage and all. and the amazing thing is that we actually managed to catch the last train in the nick of time! orgasmic exercise sial... hahaha bring on poly 50! we will own your sore ass!

Aw man yesterday was dope. went to school at noon to do project with Mas all the way to 6pm man. like the fc5 seat totally broke my balls. After that i went to vivo for abit to hook up with Troy and his 2 meter tall friend before heading to Timbre for Syak's gig. Kena ownded in the MRT on the way there; firstly this senile old man ks my seat in the kiasuest of fashions(NOOB), and even worse the whole MRT smelt of vomit cause some wise guy vomitted in the friggin MRT. man i like his style man. So we met up with Trevor, YangXu, Vannessa and her friend(s) and went to Timbre for the gig. The Nerves were dope. A few other bands performed also, like the fatskunks, and they were dope too, but not as dope as The Nerves, cause they were like brotherhood dope. we almost got kicked out of Timbre coz we didn't order anything and pretended to look at the menu the whole time, but Syak saved us by ordering a round of coke and pizza. I like your style man Syak.

woohoo watched pirates today with Mas and Samuel after our project meeting. Good stuff, but abit too long for our liking, since we were exhausted after hunting for a freaking priest the whole goddamn afternoon. I mean, how hard could it be right? finding a guy who should be praying 24/7 in a church like everday of his life. Well apparently, we have to make an appointment with him before we can even get close to him. Sounds more like a friggin CEO den a priest man. LOL. what's next? i gotta check his schedule with his secretary first?zzzz..... so after some insightful thinking, we found a "loophole" hehehe.... i should stop here :)

so the past few days were damn slack for me, just lazing round places like vivo city and ikea with my pals, enjoyin life as if projects and the upcoming CA1s didn't exist. Some people in my class like everyday chiong project only sia, giving me the holy shit im gonna get owned feeling hahaha. But when did i ever really give a rat's arse about things like this? actually a few times, but that's it LOL. i work hard for myself and myself alone. gone are the days where i worked hard with the reward from my mum sitting firmly at the back of my mind. that's so primary school man HAHA.

dang it. my turn to get fever and flu. i feel like shit now. can't play soccer, can't do my schoolwork, can't play winning eleven, can't do anything at all. Restaurant Reviews - The Eat'z 19 Cafe

went to do ssm with yik shi at bugis today. for lunch, we paid a visit to a little restaurant opposite shaw centre, called eat'z 19 cafe. The exterior design of the place ; with a waterfall-embedded glass window and stuff like that; gives passer-bys the impression that the place is classy and snazzy. With a closer inspection of the menu board at the foot of the restaurant, you would definitely be reeled in to dining at the place, as their set lunch meal is going at $9.80 nett. An amazing price for what seems to be a touch of fine dining. Of course,broke teenagers like us won't hesitate to patronize the place.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the waitress, who showed us to our seats with a smile, equipped with sparkling braces. A typical fine-dining table set-up, with fork on the left, 2 spoons and knife on the right, napkins folded to a peacock-ish design on the finger plate. Champagne glass made of real glass, giving off a ""ting" sound when abused by my finger. On the wall opposite us lay countless cut-outs and awards, proudly displayed in frames. Soon after we were presented the menu, from which we selected our dishes, for today the seafood linguine with thai spices. For our drinks, we chose Iced Tea.

On to the part that really matters; the food. For starters, we were served Cream of Chicken Soup, with a slice of freshly baked garlic bread. The soup was refreshingly pleasant, with the right thickness of cream and a dash of light spices. The soup succeeded in warming up our tastebuds for what's to come. The Iced Tea was good as well, an ideal choice for quenching our thirst on a hot day as today.

The main dish was served soon after. The linguine gave off a enticing smell, one which seems oddly familiar, but mysterious at the same time. The presentation of the dish was also spot on, with the linguine noodles twirled classicly, garnished by prawns and spices on the top. The clams formed the base of the dish, halfway submerged in the cream sauce. As the noodles and sauce made its way into my mouth, my tastebuds turned haywire. The flavour of the dish was out of this world, in both senses of the word. I had never tasted something like this before, and it being this good, god knows why. The best way to describe the essence of the dish would be, a fusion of East and West. The cream base of the sauce resembled a western take on pasta, while the thai spices enhanced the flavour of the noodles as well as the sauce, giving it a western-yet-oriental taste. The prawns were cooked to perfection, maintaining the flavour in the meat. The only blemish would have to be the clams, as yik shi particularly did not seem to enjoy the somewhat "soggy" texture of the meat. Nevertheless, the dish was refreshing for my senses, as it breaks away from the "norm of pasta", and it was not afraid to cross the supposedly suicidal barrier between western and eastern cuisine. Portion-wise, the dish ideally filled our stomachs, without having to go overboard. The dessert of the day was Vanilla ice cream topped with caramel syrup and almonds, which, although lacking in amount, more than makes up for in taste. A fitting finale to a fine dining experience.

Final Take
What initially seemed to be a scam turned out to be a pleasant surprise. With excellent service, creative dishes and a posh outlook, Eat'z 19 cafe managed to satisfy us immensely. And all that for $9.80, its a steal!
